Memory distortions

QUESTION

How can memory distortions such as the availability and accessibility heuristics, the illusion of truth, and classical conditioning affect our ability to critically make decisions or accept the validity of an argument.

SAMPLE ANSWER:

The concept of classical conditioning says that an organism will respond to a neutral stimulus in the similar manner as he responds to a pair of neutral stimulus and an unconditional stimulus. It means the organism responds to a given situation using his previous experiences all of which gave same results in the end. The concept of illusion of the truth is also based on the previous experiences of the organism which aids him to perform in a task without having a conscious awareness about these previous experiences. In this manner he forgets about the truthfulness of these previous experiences but he is just carried away by his subconscious memory.
